Foundation launch & the autobiography
📖 “A Life of Braving Contradictions” — the autobiography of Dr. Paul Muwanguzi was unveiled at the official launch of the Paul Muwanguzi Foundation in a landmark event that brought together government officials, publishers, and community leaders.
Held with much fanfare, the launch underscored the Foundation’s commitment to continuing Dr. Muwanguzi’s legacy through impactful projects in health, education, and community development. The event marked the beginning of a structured effort to honour his life of extraordinary service.
“We have to commit ourselves as the public sector to meet these goals. We are already solving these challenges through different initiatives made through local government, involving local communities through mobilisation and sensitisation.”
— Raphael Magyezi, Minister of Local Government
Minister Magyezi highlighted the importance of community-based approaches, noting that the Parish Development Model (PDM) is now 98% complete, though challenges such as funding gaps and road infrastructure remain. The event also saw a strong call from publishers for a National Book Policy to support libraries and a broader reading culture beyond exams.
